Workshop: Anatomy 4 Yoga Teachers
Sunday, December 8, 14:00 - 17:00 (3h)

In this 3-hour workshop, we dive deep into the fascinating world of human anatomy and explore how different structures of the body - such as muscles, tendons and bones - work in the yoga practice. Yoga teachers and advanced practitioners will get a clear overview of the different functions, their role in movement and how they work together in the body.

Workshop Content:

  • Basics of human physiology

Here we create an overview of the interplay between bones, muscles and tendons. You will learn how these tissues carry us through the asanas and which physiological processes take place during yoga practice. We get an overview of the anatomical structure of the different joints (shoulder, spine, hip, knee) and how this influences the yoga practice.

  • Injury prevention and dealing with common complaints

Learn how to prevent and deal with injuries such as yoga butt, piriformis syndrome, shoulder problems and knee pain. The correct alignment and adjustment of asanas plays a key role in this.

Aim of the workshop:

This workshop provides you with in-depth knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. After the workshop, you will be able to apply this knowledge directly to your yoga practice. You will learn how to prevent injuries and safely deal with discomfort in order to guide your students through their yoga practice in the best possible way.
