Chaturanga Dandasana is much more than just a pushup! Translated, the yoga position is called the 'four-limbed stick'. Quite clear when you look at the position: a stick standing on hands and feet (four limbs)!
Chaturanga needs and teaches stability and strength - both physically and mentally. Thus, this asana is an absolute foundation for the doktor yoga style! A stable, technically clean Chaturanga is the ideal starting position for Arm Balances and Inversions (headstand, handstand, forearm stand..). The wrists are strengthened as well as the muscles of the arms, shoulders, abdomen and back. In this workshop Jazz will show you with a lot of knowledge and humor how to avoid the most common mistakes. You will learn the correct alignment, mechanics and anatomy of the Chaturanga, how to warm up the wrists properly, variations for beginners, how to use aids, etc... An essential workshop for all yoga practitioners!
